Wedding day photography
Images by Dee works through a mix of reportage wedding photography and traditional poses to provide you with the complete story of your wedding day.
I like to be present from the wedding day preparations through to the first dance but am happy to be totally flexible to the requirements of each couple… everyone is unique and as such every wedding day is unique.
Right from our first contact we will discuss the style of photography you prefer and what type of photographs you want for your keepsakes. Before the wedding day we will have agreed any specific shots that you as the wedding couple want from your day, right from those personal couple shots through to group shots to provide those special memories for family and friends. Throughout the rest of the day I will work unobtrusively through reportage wedding photography to capture those special candid moments of the laughter, the chat, the split second emotions.
From the time you book me, I will work on your wedding. From our initial meeting the important factor for any photographer should be the preparation. I will visit the wedding venues to understand the best places from where to take shots. I will work with you and your wedding day information to create a day-plan of timings to work out when and where we will fit in any important set-up shots that you want taken.
I double check all information – ceremony and reception venues, venue addresses, getting ready addresses, timings, important family and friends group shots.
Most wedding couples who book me want a mix of traditional and reportage wedding photography. I am a mother, my daughter got married and I totally understand the need for those traditional family shots… and no, I didn’t do my daughters wedding photography, the day was far too important for me to want to miss any of it by hiding behind my camera.
I like to get as many images from your wedding day including (if required) the following;
- getting ready of the bride and bridal party and if timings allow, the bride leaving the house
- the groom and best man waiting at the ceremony venue
- guests arriving at the ceremony venue
- bride arriving at the ceremony venue
- throughout the ceremony, within the venue guidelines, to capture the romance and emotions of the vows and ring exchange
- leaving the ceremony venue and confetti shots
- special “time-out” shots for the bride and groom
- at the reception to capture the emotions and reactions to speeches, toasts, cutting of the cake and the first dance
All this is interspersed with reportage wedding photography through which I will capture all of the special moments that last only the blink of an eye that will surprise and delight when you review your day’s images.
I work entirely with digital equipment and have both back up cameras and lenses.
After the wedding day, I will work to ensure that your images are ‘picture perfect’ for your initial gallery viewing.
